The historical riverport of Goolwa is situated on the last bend of the Murray River before it flows on through the Coorong and out to sea.
There are many safe anchorages around the Goolwa and South Lakes area on offer:
GOOLWA WHARF
• Jetty Mooring - 24 hour limit
• Walk to the cafes, hotels and restaurants in the heart of Goolwa
THE MARINA HINDMARSH ISLAND
• Jetty Mooring - fees may apply
• Walk to Rankine’s Landing for a meal
• Marine fuel available
WALLY'S LANDING - Finniss River
• Jetty mooring with fire pit
• Dinner by appointment at the nearby Currency Creek Winery
CLAYTON - Main Jetty
• Jetty mooring and public toilet
CLAYTON BAY SAILING CLUB

DUNN'S LAGOON - just east of Clayton

There are multiple public boat ramps in Goolwa. Water access to the Coorong is via the Goolwa Lock. Hours of operation are 8.00am -12.30pm and 1.30pm - 4.00pm daily. Click on the SA Water logo to link to their page for the updated opening times and lockage telephone contact numbers.
There is also a MANUALLY operated lock in the Tauwitchere Barrage which is accessible by shallow draft vessels only.
Boat ramp access on the Coorong is available from the 19th Beacon boat ramp at the end of Barrage Road or the Mundoo Channel boat ramp.

There are numerous secluded beach mooring spots along The Coorong. Make sure you keep tidal movements in mind when mooring your boat!
